Design Farm is a collective of architects, designers, and landscape architects dedicated to sustainable living implemented through design located in Jackson, Wyoming and Victor, Idaho. Sustainable living encompasses every space we inhabit. From homes, offices, restaurants, schools, and hospitals, to emergency shelters in war torn or natural disaster areas. We believe good design can make life better. Our mission is to create spaces that are community-inspired, fun, professional, budget conscious, environmentally sensitive, sustainable, modern, and humane.
Collaboration is our design methodology. We believe the coordinated efforts among architects, clients, consultants, contractors, and community are integral to the success of every project. As architects and designers it is our duty to be facilitators and translators of clients’ ideas and values into the built form. We believe architecture has the power to represent the aspirations of its time and the specific nuances of each client’s vision while embodying a reverence for place. We encourage sustainable practices on all projects and are fluent in LEED certification. Our objective is not only sustainable design, but communities’ active involvement in the genesis of their own culture. With the homogenization of culture around the globe, it is becoming imperative that communities acknowledge and embrace their unique qualities through the architecture of the built environment.
The work of the firm spans all social classes and building typologies. We currently have projects ranging from sustainable school buildings in snowy Idaho, to passive solar homes on Kentucky bluegrass horse farms, to international aid projects for the rebuilding of post-earthquake Haiti. We are willing to accommodate any design budget, small or large.
Our priority is the value added to our world by filling it with good design. We believe good design is a right, not a privilege.
